Summary Information

At the weekly meetings we have various games, skill demonstrations of all kinds, guest speakers on a range of different subjects from the military, zoologist, sheriff department, rescue operations, REI, and even rocket scientists.

Every month we have one troop outing.  It can be anything from campouts, district events, canoeing the Canadian and US border, Sand Dunes, climbing 14,000 ft peaks, spelunking, summer and winter camping or swimming at a pool party just to name a few.

Scouts learn about outdoor skills, leadership skills, teamwork, community spirit and knowing they are part of a great organization.

Our troop has been going for  over 40 years. Our troop size for the past couple of years is about 55 active scouts. Our Scouts range in age from about 11 to 18 years of age. In our troop, our Scouts hold the ranks between Tenderfoot all the way up to the highest and rarest rank, EAGLE.

We mainly draw our Scouts from the Columbine, Chatfield, and Dakota Ridge High School areas.

Our Troop is made up of 7 patrols.  Each scout in a patrol learns to depend on his fellow scouts and his own knowledge and skills. Our troop has several of its members in an honor society of Boy Scouts of America. This organization is called the “Order of the Arrow”.

Troop 554 proudly participates, leads, and organizes many community services.
